1. Acceptance of Terms
By using Mechanics Blacklist, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, including our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
2. Purpose of Platform
Mechanics Blacklist provides a platform for verified mechanics and auto repair shops to share factual information about customers who have failed to pay for services. It also allows other mechanics to search for this information to assess risk and prevent fraud.
3. User Eligibility and Verification
Only verified mechanics or authorized representatives of a repair shop may create accounts and post content. By registering, you affirm that you have authority to act on behalf of your business and that all submitted information is accurate.
4. Permissible Content and Conduct
All content must:
- Be based on first-hand experiences.
- Include only the customer’s first name and last initial (no full names or personal identifiers).
- Accurately describe the transaction, invoice, and payment failure.
- Avoid threats, insults, or defamatory language.
5. Prohibited Content
You may NOT:
- Include full names, phone numbers, addresses, license plate numbers, or similar PII.
- Post unverifiable claims, rumors, or third-party stories.
- Use the platform for harassment, retaliation, or discrimination.
6. Legal Responsibility and Disclaimers
- You are fully responsible for the accuracy and legality of the content you post.
- Mechanics Blacklist does not verify claims made in user submissions and assumes no liability for resulting disputes, damages, or outcomes.
- We reserve the right to remove or modify any post at our sole discretion.
7. Content Moderation and Removal
We reserve the right (but not obligation) to moderate content. Users may flag content for review if it appears to violate these Terms.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mechanics Blacklist, its owners, employees, and affiliates from any legal claims arising from your use of the platform or content you post.
9. No Legal Advice
Information on Mechanics Blacklist is for general awareness only and should not be taken as legal advice.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of Mechanics Blacklist constitutes acceptance of any changes.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of MISSOURI, without regard to conflict of law principles.
